Hi, my name is Jay Margart. I live in san diego. Sugarrush Railroad inc. started on dec 27 1995, the day after i got out of the navy. Armed with a tascam four track, a 40 of mickeys, a delay pedal and a greenish plant type substance that I set on fire I set forth on my journey. By 2001 I started actually showing off my recordings, not "pushing" them, but letting people hear them.. I was pleasantly suprised by the reaction, i'd go to a party and people would ask to hear what ever i'd recorded.. one of these people was Rob Janssen who played bass in the L.A. psychdelic space rock band "Morrocan". Rob and I clicked right away, and we began to develop a dialog about forming a band.. Suddenly , Morrocan split up . Rob, along with Josh Bohannon, Morrocan's drummer, and I started a band... Josh had never heard my music, and i'd never been in a band.. our fist meeting/practice was hillarious.. I had no idea how to play my guitar standing up and singing, let alone with a drummer, plus most of my music didn't even have drums in it!... fortunately Rob came to the rescue on the way back to Josh's house... he played the cd for Josh, who in turn insisted on playing the "three string" which he plays beautifully . we also agreed that there really wasn't any reason to have a drummer.. we got some pretty cool shows with Earthless, Blackheart Procession..Parchman Farm and some others.. plus Josh and Rob are incredible freinds as well as musicians, so shows were just fun as hell! But as much as I got a kick out of playing live I still wanted to keep recording. So all the while, I moved up to computers for recording and took some protools classes with my gi bill. Meanwhile work and other life priorities drew members occasionally away from San Diego, so we started really doing some recording.also this makes it so each member doesnt have to keep playing the same instrument.. and we can make the songs as big as we want!.. one of our songs wound up on this great comp at: http://www.myspace.com/11fingersrecords, which i'm pretty stoked about! Well thats about it.. i'm just a guy who fixes lawnmowers for a living, but i like making trippy music.. the best part is that other people like it too..

Rob, Jay, and Josh play all the instruments and stuff. But sometimes Iain plays drums and thats rad.

11 fingers sampler is OUT!!!! thats right, some very nice people hooked us up and put one of our songs on this compilation, which features some awesomely incredible music from Dope Aviators, Richard Formby, Robert Poss , Geese, and a ton of others!
