The Purple Dream Machine is the vision of one man( basically because the "machine" is a one man band). Jon Odom a multi-instrumentalist has taken the daunting task of producing, playing, composing and recording all the songs on the up coming all instrumental Cd "THE PURPLE DREAM MACHINE" He approached this Cd in the same manner in which he dose his art... by taking a concept and planting that seed/idea and watching it grow from a thought and sculpting it until it takes a life of its own... morphing from the intangible to the tangible . The music has its roots in the psychedelic sounds of the late sixties and early seventies and blends that psychedelic influence with various instrumental psychedelic music with hypnotic trance beats that span various genres such as Space Rock, Blues, Jazz, Middle Eastern/Raga, funk, and country . The Purple Dream Machines purpose is to take the listener to different sonic landscapes or "TRIPS" where they can let go and let their mind wander.
