The nucleus for this band started in 1990 with Jeanie and Owen Meeting and starting a band with her brothers Dan and John(1990-1995) . This morphed into "the ruse" a multitrack recording outfit with songs written by Owen/Jeanie and performed by Owen,Jeanie and a guitar player named Jay (sorry Jay we forgot your last name!apparently we killed those memory cells!)(1993-1997).Jobs ,children,time.....2007 two Bush administrations later broke screwed blewed and tattood freedom is just nothin' left to lose. Sonny boy Matt had turned into a fine guitarist and jamin' mate so .....This band is the result of a transplanted "metro" "Dee"troit or if your a north east end Red Wings cum Canadian homer type DeTro-it (Dee-troy-it) Families desperate attempt to escape the never ending madness of a great northwest winter (it's soooo f-ing gloomy!). We live and play in and on the Olympic peninsula of Washington. Pretty remote. We are located just between Port Angeles and Sequim (ya say SQUIM) on what we call the big toe of blue mountain. ANYWAY..... Large amounts of coffee are helpful in keeping the brain working properly during the interminal darkness that pervades our life from November to March here. To our delight add a livingroom full of LOUD music equipment, matt's badassed buzzsaw guitar Jeanies fine thwaking bass and Owen's relentlessly pounding THE SHIT out of the drums whilist Matt and Owen do there best Roger Daltry morfed into Tom joneses long lost son Kurt Cobains impression!!. ( No really Matt It's NOT unusual !!). I am so glad I learned to write because speaking to me has become a lost cause ! (what ? what ? ). OH THE BIO !!! . So we would er.. "rehearse" in the living room on gloomy days and in the meantime Mom and Dad on wednesday nights would go to this roadhouse called "the Junction" (can you say northern exposure?). To watch live blues being played...Neat. But wouldn't it be a little "neater" if we snuck the boy buzz saw in and well , kinda woke up the old loggers sipping there Oly and whisky with a little MAXIMUM R&B and enough psychedelic muzak to make even the oldest old maid ex acid dancer do her darndest to re create that last great trip in early '71 ?. Well we did and got great feedback like "what the hell was that ?"and oh yeah "hey that is REALLY hurting my ears "( Owen's goes like..uh what another o.k!). We have been back several times since to "finish" the job so to speak and really the people have been great and we have enjoyed every moment of playing out there and will gladly do it again.
