“There is an autumnal longing in The Collingwood’s music, the wistful guitars and half-buried vocals evoking long-abandoned dust-filled rooms and the last light of dusk falling on empty suburban streets.” - Shaun Brady/Philadelphia City Paper.
Formed in 1999 by guitarist/filmmaker, Christopher Malinowski, The Collingwood mesh cinema-driven, minor-key melodies with elements of post-rock and progressive-soul, creating circuitous compositions, both contemplative and severe. The Collingwood is renowned for its impetuous, harshly-lit live performances, equal parts drama and ass-shake. Members live, run, and photograph in Landenberg, Pennsylvania - Newark, Delaware – and Elkton, Maryland.
RELATED BANDS are Freakshow (Delaware -1986-1990) and The Absurd (Delaware - 1992-1995).
RELATED 16-MILLIMETER FILM PROJECTS are "Metz Committed", "Son of a Fishlicker" and "'Alms,' You Say" (almsyousay.com) or (myspace.com/almsyousay).

SOUND: I love this silliness. This is where I list all of the bands, "retro" or contemporary, that musicians interviewed by Details, Blender, Alternative Press, et al claim are "smart" influences to have on a band resume... thus guaranteeing me a vast, young female fan-base, who are now more-than-enamoured with my ultra-cute, overtly-postured Collingwood 8 X 10... suck it... never gonna happen... rather... here is a list (non-comprehensive) of quintessential records by bands who have done this better than us which you could be seeking out in lieu of reading half-assed MySpace pages...
