My name’s John Boytosh, and I started my musical career at the age of 16. My instrument is the electric guitar and I sing, too. I was always writing my own material. My first band was called The BeatHeads, and we recorded four albums. Now I continue just as John Boytosh, without any band names. My long-time collaborator and bass player is Rob Konczi. He’s a great friend, and he’s my primary partner in songwriting, recording, and performing live! My other great friend and promoter is Leslie J. Bialik, from Oakland, CA. She’s supporting me and my work. My biggest help and mentor is my father, his name is John Boytosh too. The music I play is blues and rock-oriented. I’m heavily inspired by the 60s’ greatest musicians and bands as well as by the early blues masters.
