Bassist and singer Pete Bremy came on the scene back in the 60's with Heaven's Sundae, a very popular North Jersey rock band. In the 70's he moved on to Holy Smoke, another very popular North Jersey band in the 70's NJ club scene.
Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Pete Bremy has been singing and playing for over 40 years. In the early days, Pete and his oldest and best friend, guitarist and singer Jeff Guenther, worked prolifically in north Jersey in the late 60's and early 70's. Life happens of course, and Jeff moved away, but they are together again and Pete works with Jeff Guenther's Retrofitz along with Jeff's wife, singer Annmarie Guenther.
Over the past ten years, Pete was fortunate to meet one of his early idols, Vince Martell, original lead guitarist of Vanilla Fudge, which had the most influence on Pete musically. Soon after, Vince invited Pete to join his band as bassist, along with singer/keyboardist Peg Pearl and drummer Russ T. Blades. Vince also introduced Pete to the rest of Vanilla Fudge. When Tim Bogert, Pete's biggest bass idol, took ill suddenly in 2002, Tim asked him to fill in for the bulk of the Vanilla Fudge 2002 tour which brought Pete across the United States and to Scandanavia.
In 2004 and 2005, Pete toured with singer/songwriter Essra Mohawk, whose album Primordial Lovers, was listed as one of Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 25 albums of all time. In 2008, Pete once again subbed for Tim Bogert in Cactus, featuring legendary drummer Carmine Appice and one of the original Cactus guitarists, Werner Fritzchings.
Ultimately Pete finally had the chance to perform with Vince in Las Vegas in August 2008 with Vanilla Fudge's Mark Stein and Vince Martell. This was a true highlight as Mark Stein is Pete's biggest musical influence.
Occasionally Pete will show up at gigs with another group of friends, Classic Rock band Fly By Nite.
Pete is also working on his first CD, working title Just a Passenger. Please enjoy a rough mix of House of The Rising Sun, a preview of the upcoming CD. Pete sings lead, and handles bass and drums with special guests Jeff Guenther on lead guitar and Dave Kraemer on acoustic guitar.
